Brussel Sprouts

It is said that the pain of remaining tight as a bud is more painful than the risk of bloom, and to flower we need to stop resisting the flow of our inner life. As part of growing up we are conditioned and as a result we fight and struggle within ourselves and lose a big part of our life not living the way it matters to us.The moment of flowering is an expression of who you are and what you care about. I love to dance but always told myself I am not good at it or that it is embarrassing and inhibit myself from going up to the dance floor. This weekend was special as we celebrated the 50th birthday of our close friend. It was a true celebration, everyone brought what is unique about them to the friendship and made it a memorable event. It was my moment of flowering, where I opened the dance floor at the party and we all had a blast.

This is a simple Brussel sprout sauté that I made in a rush once when I was short of supplies and time and my daughter loved it. While the salt, sweet and tangy taste stimulates multiple taste buds, the crunchy texture adds to the joy of eating.
